Planchonella Gamblei

Gamble's planchonella, scientifically known as Planchonella gamblei, is a rare and unique species of flowering plant native to the tropical regions of Southeast Asia. This small evergreen tree is characterized by its glossy dark green leaves and clusters of fragrant white flowers that bloom during the wet season. Despite its ornamental appeal, it remains a poorly studied species due to its limited distribution and habitat specificity. Found primarily in the mountainous areas of Borneo and Sumatra, it thrives in humid, shaded environments with rich, well-drained soil. Conservation efforts are increasingly important to protect this delicate plant from habitat loss and climate change.
