Oxyceros Patulus

Redstem filaree, scientifically known as Oxyceros patulus, is a small, flowering plant native to the western United States and parts of Mexico. It is commonly found in disturbed soils, along roadsides, and in open fields, thriving in dry to moist conditions. The plant is characterized by its delicate, feathery leaves and clusters of tiny, pinkish-white flowers that bloom in early spring. Despite its delicate appearance, it is a resilient species capable of spreading rapidly through seed dispersal. Its presence often indicates healthy, well-drained soil and can serve as an indicator plant for certain ecosystems.
