Negundo Aceroides Subsp. Violaceum

Violaceum maple, scientifically known as Negundo aceroides subsp. violaceum, is a rare and striking species native to the mountainous regions of Central Asia. Its most distinctive feature is its deep violet to purple foliage, which sets it apart from other maple varieties. This unique coloration is due to high concentrations of anthocyanins, which also provide some protection against environmental stress. Despite its beauty, the Violaceum maple is critically endangered due to habitat loss and over-collection. Conservation efforts are underway to preserve this remarkable tree for future generations.
