Myristica Malayana

Malay nutmeg, scientifically known as Myristica malayana, is a rare and ancient spice tree native to the tropical regions of Southeast Asia. This evergreen shrub belongs to the Myristicaceae family and is closely related to the more well-known nutmeg tree, Myristica fragrans. Its unique aromatic seeds and essential oils have made it a prized ingredient in traditional medicine and culinary practices. Despite its historical significance, Malay nutmeg remains underappreciated and endangered due to habitat loss and overharvesting. Conservation efforts are now underway to protect this valuable plant for future generations.
