Fissistigma Kinabaluense
Kinabalu fissistigma, scientifically known as Fissistigma kinabaluense, is a rare and unique plant species native to the high-altitude regions of Mount Kinabalu in Borneo. This evergreen shrub is characterized by its striking, waxy leaves and clusters of small, fragrant white flowers that bloom in the cool, misty climate of its mountainous habitat. Found primarily in the limestone forests of Sabah, it thrives in the nutrient-poor soils and humid conditions of the upper elevations. Due to its limited distribution and vulnerability to habitat loss, the plant is considered endangered and is a subject of conservation interest. Its beauty and ecological significance make it a remarkable example of Borneo's rich botanical diversity.
